Artist's Statement

Weizhen Liang, an Artist member of the California Art Club and the member of Oil Painters of America. She earned a BA in the major of Chinese Literature from Ji Nan University of Guangzhou in China. She showed early interest in arts and studied painting and drawing from her aunt, Zhong, An-Zhi, a famous painter and professor in Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts. In 1998, Weizhen had been studying painting seriously from her husband Huihan Liu, a renowned painter graduated from Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts in China.

They recently live in East Bay of San Francisco. She is represented by The Sylvan Gallery in Charleston, South Carolina; Vail International Gallery in Vail, Colorado; and Germanton Gallery in Germanton, North Carolina.

Weizhen has traveled extensively with her husband Huihan to Tibet Region many times and fascinated from their native culture before vanishing in to modernization. She also love floral painting with simplicity design, painterly application, the subject often come from the backyard she grow.

She is an invited artist of Northwest Rendezvous Group in Montana in 2003 and 2004. The painting, “Salute to Bonnard” is selected for show image of Northwest Rendezvous by Southwest Art magazine in August 2003. The paintings, “Rose Dream” and “Snow White” are received awards of “Top Fifty” by Salon International 2004 in Greenhouse Gallery. Her painting “Summer Garden” is exhibited in 2003 West/Southwest Mountain Regional Show in Waterhouse Gallery in Santa Barbara, CA in June, “Roses in Morning Sun” is selected by National 11th Annual Oil Painters of America Show in April 2002 at the Hilligoss Galleries in Chicago and “My Rose Garden “ was selected by OPA to the 2001 West /Northwest Mountain Juried Exhibition in Springville Museum of Art in Utah.
