RAYMOND ALLAN HARRIS
Ray Harris was born on October 4, 1952 in Elsberry, Missouri. He moved with his family frequently before settling in Pasadena, Texas.
Harris graduated from the Art Center College of Design in 1978. He has worked as an artist in the motion picture industry for over thirty years.
He continued his studies by traveling extensively and developed a tendency to paint outdoors and from life. Thus, his style has remained consistent over the years. |
ARTIST STATEMENT
“It has been a rewarding journey, making friends along the way. Teachers, art patrons, and fellow artists, all sharing a common goal: to keep the spirit of painting and learning alive.
I am challenged by an inner search for good design, color, and the spirit in a work of art.
Working in a variety of locations and painting from life, to me, is the most rewarding. Whether it is a portrait, landscape, or genre painting, I am searching for my individual vision of the subject. The paint surface and design of color shapes sometimes take precedence of a rigid copy of the object.” |
