Happy Valentine's Day!

It’s hard to believe that the first month of 2006 is already behind us. Here at the gallery we have taken down our Small Works Show and have big canvases back on the wall and a lot of new and exciting work.

We are celebrating February, and Valentine's Day with a gift for you from the gallery, when you purchase a work of art. What better way to tell your Valentine that they are the light of your life, but with art?

In March, we welcome our first group show for 2006 featuring the lively acrylics of Ana Helena Berenguer, lovely oils by Jennifer Hansen and vibrant watercolors of Vicki Thomas. This month look for F. Scott Garland's ad in Fine Art Connoisseur Magazine and in March, Trish Kertes shows her work.

Ana Helena Berenguer

ANA HELENA BERENGUER was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She became a renowned actress in film, television, and theatre around the world, performing in productions in Milan, Barcelona, Paris, Tokyo, New York, and Los Angeles, where she now resides. She received an architecture degree from Santa Ursula University in Rio de Janeiro.

Ana Helena’s international travels and countless museum visits fuelled her passion for art, inspiring her vibrant and joyful expressions on canvas. While in Paris, she studied art at the Louvre and fell in love with the Impressionists. Ana Helena’s modern impressionist paintings reflect this love with vivid color, freedom, and joy - just like her joyful and outgoing personality. Her paintings are inspired by such locations as California, France, Italy, and Holland and are in collections throughout the world.

“I believe I was born to love everyone and show the greatness that God has deposited in each of His creations. My paintings are an invitation for all people to rejoice and experience abundant life.”

Collector's Corner

Values in Art; What it Means to Your Collection and Collecting
Three Part Series, Part III; The Value of Conservation and Framing

Collecting art goes beyond simply purchasing a painting and hanging it on the wall. As we have examined in the last few segments, artwork is precious and can be easily damaged either by accident or simply lack of proper precaution and care.
  • Artwork will fade. Do not display your work in or under direct sunlight.
  • Frame all of your artwork. A frame is not just an aesthetic piece for the painting but protects the work as well.
  • Keep your artwork clean by keeping it dust free. The easiest way to do this is with your hairdryer, set on low and cool, never warm. Never attempt to clean the work with solvents, chemicals or even water. If artwork needs to be cleaned, always have it done by a professional.
