To celebrate the approaching summer hiking season, Linda Brown has created a series of 9 paintings of one of the most popular hikes in the San Gabriel Valley - the Sam Merrill trail to Echo Mountain. Climbing 2.5 miles from Altadena up the southern slopes of the San Gabriel Mountains, this historic trail affords spectacular views of the San Gabriel Valley, and arrives at the fascinating ruins of a 1930’s railway and resort hotel.
